About us
My husband and I have lived in over 6 states in our individual lives and married lives. After my husband was forced to medically retire from the military due to a parachute accident (which explains the logo), we moved to Ohio. We weren’t sure where we were going to live at first. My husband knew he wanted land and I knew I wanted to live where I grew up as a child, so we moved forward with those stipulations. After looking and waiting, and placing offers with no acceptance, we started to get discouraged. We knew God had us live in Ohio but living in a two-bedroom apartment and one bathroom with an English mastiff, toddler, and one on the way was becoming harder. Our farm came up for sale, and we looked at it and my husband said no.
Well a month later, we were talking and I brought up our farm again and this time we decided it was the right fit for us. We put the offer in and it went through. I wish it was that easy, but we won’t talk about the hiccups. This home was more property than we thought we could get and the house was a new build. The wait was definitely worth the blessing. But how’d the farm start? We knew we wanted land, but weren’t sure how we were going to use it. We started with chickens and more chickens. Right now we have over 25 chickens, but by the time you read this, it may have grown. We also planted over 40 fruit bushes and trees all within the first summer of living here…we moved in the last day of May.
Summer 2021, we had our own personal garden and pumpkin patch. We have found that we loved growing plants. Especially my children, they love going outside and helping mommy in the garden (as one of my kids puts it). So why cut flowers? I have done floral work for over four weddings. I have also done numerous baby showers, wedding showers, and parties. Most of the time, I’ve had to order my flowers and just do the design work. I want to actually use quality products that I just couldn’t always get by shipping in.
For the 2022 season, we were able to do a wedding, numerous showers, market bouquets, and personal orders over this season while understanding more about the land we live on and the people we were able to bless through the flowers. We continue to understand more about growing flowers are how to do it well as we get more seasons under our belt of growing here in Geauga county.
Why the name Providence Farm Ltd?
We believe “Providence” was the perfect name for our farm due to God perfectly keeping my husband safe during his military accident. God was guiding us to this specific area through the long path of the unknown. During all of this time and even still, we are constantly seeing God’s protection on us. This farm is part of his providence for us.
